My favorite ways to sneak healthy goodies into my holiday savory dishes are: to create a base using homemade bone broth. (Check out crock pot recipes to make it simply.) Add fresh herbs (and fresh citrus rinds) where appropriate. Use as much fresh, in season food as possible.
For desserts- consider using maple syrup where it fits for a healthier sugar. If nut flours- like almond flour would work- use that in place of wheat flour for a lower glycemic index dessert….
